Welcome!
This site shows hand selected vintage watches of different brands and for all budgets. All possible details are stated at the best of our ability: thorough description and the history of the watches, their mechanical features, their rare peculiarities but also their flaws.
We like Art Deco watches and early chronographs, as these incorporate the most elegant and recognisable of designs. A style officially introduced during the Paris ‘Exposition des Arts Décoratifs’ in 1925, the watches of this era reflect the Parisian style of the period, well represented in glass artworks by René Lalique, clothes and accessories by Coco Chanel or incorporate the architecture of the vertically expanding cities of Chicago and New York. This era also saw the introduction of a new revolutionary material for watch cases: stainless steel.
Later designs are influenced by the WWII period, with sober and often black dials. The 1950s break with the dark codes as people wanted to part with the war period and preferred watches with bright dials. This period also saw the rise of scientific and professional time pieces. Battery alimented watches would then accompany the beginning space age era with space race, moon landing and the development of integrated circuits catapulting us into the 21st century.
